The Sishood is more than a community in Malta — it’s a sisterhood, a safe space for authentic connections and empowerment.

When we think of empowerment, we often picture an individual journey: setting goals, working harder, pushing ourselves. But true empowerment rarely happens alone. It grows stronger in a community — when we are surrounded by women who believe in us, encourage us, and walk alongside us.
At The Sishood, every event is designed with this in mind. We create safe spaces where women can explore, learn, and grow without fear of judgement. Empowerment here doesn’t mean competing or performing. It means confidence through support, inspiration through sharing, and growth through sisterhood.
How empowerment happens in our circle
Stepping out of your comfort zone: Whether it’s speaking up in a group, trying a new creative activity, or cooking with strangers, each small step builds confidence.
Collective encouragement: In our workshops, women cheer for each other. That simple encouragement — “you can do this” — can change the way you see yourself.
Creativity as empowerment: Painting, writing, or cooking might look simple, but these activities unlock expression, voice and joy. They remind us that creativity is power.
Well-being practices: Journaling, meditation, and reflective discussions support emotional balance and help women reconnect with themselves.
Why it’s different
Unlike traditional expat meetups, our focus isn’t just networking. It’s empowerment through authentic connections. Women leave our events not only with new friends, but with a renewed sense of who they are — more confident, more inspired, and more grounded in a community that uplifts them.
Because empowerment isn’t a solo journey — it’s something we build together, as women in Malta.
